What’s the best way to
contact Custom Sports Cards?
Am I limited to the
styles that are shown on the product samples page?
Not at all – Custom Sports Cards encourages your creativity! If you
sketch out a basic design for your card, we will do our best to
accommodate that. If a design idea is not specified, you can select
an existing format or create a new one that suits the combination of
pictures and text you need.
For high-volume orders (such
as leagues or camps), design services are available and are included
in the overall price of the order. Please contact us{link to
contact} for more details.

Are Polaroid's okay?
Yes, although the clarity and the color quality are generally not as
good as 35mm prints.
Top^
Can I choose the colors
on my Personalized Trading Cards?
Yes, to a point. You can request general color types (green, dark
blue, etc.) and we will do everything within our power to match what
you’re looking for. However, it is impossible for us to provide
exact color matches all of the time.
Top^
Can I send a scanned
image of my photo on a disk or through email?
Yes. Photos should be saved at 250 dpi and must be in JPEG format if
sent via email. If sent on a disk, TIFF format is fine.
Please note that our
equipment is Macintosh- based. Please save the file accordingly if
your program asks you to differentiate. If you are taking a photo on
a digital camera, take the picture on the finest setting (highest
resolution) for the best results.
Top^
What image sizes do you
accept when sending files?
For digital camera images: Use the highest resolution (or “best”)
setting on your camera. Download the image to your computer and send
the file to us as is. For magazine covers or posters, use the
largest image size allowed by your camera and be sure to send the
files in JPEG format.
For scanned images: Please
scan your images at 300 dpi and make sure that they are at least 2”
x 3” in size. Save the scanned images in either TIFF or JPEG format.
If you do not have a high-speed connection, we recommend saving the
file in JPEG format, as JPEG files are smaller.
Top^
Is there anything I can
do to ensure the highest quality for posters and/or magazine covers
when using digital images?
The best way to ensure quality on our posters or magazine covers is
to capture your images at approximately the same size as the final
product (8” x 10” for magazine covers or larger for posters). For
magazine covers, the resolution can be reduced to 250 dpi for
scanned images; for posters, the resolution can be reduced to as low
as 150 dpi. Please save all large format images in JPEG format to
optimize the file size when sending.

Can I send professionally
taken photographs?
Most photographers' pictures are protected by copyright laws and
cannot be reproduced without their written permission. Permissions
for using photos in this way must be obtained in advance. Goldie and
Company is not responsible for researching the copyrights of any
photographs sent and will not be held legally responsible for any
copyright infringement. Any photograph that has any markings showing
copyright protection will not be reproduced unless a signed letter
of release is included with the order.
Top^
Can you "crop"
photographs?
Yes, you can mark off the section you want to be cropped by using
removable tape or post-it notes. We will include only the requested
section on your cards, posters, or magazine covers.
Top^
Can you colorize a black
and white photograph?
No, we cannot turn black and white photos into color pictures. We
can add a colored mask over a black and white picture for effect;
however, it is possible to turn a color photo into black and white
one.
Top^
Can you touch up
photographs?
We provide limited photo touch-up services at no extra charge. We
will do our best to remove scratches or other marks that might exist
on the photo in order to make the card more presentable. However,
that is the extent of touch up services we provide.
Top^
Does one set of cards
have to use the exact same card design and text, or can I use
different images and text?
A set of cards is intended to use the exact same card for whatever
quantity is specified for the set. Each separate card takes a
certain amount of time to create -- pictures need to be scanned and
processed, text needs to be entered, layout, etc. Because of this
process, it is necessary to treat each design as an individual
product.
Top^
How much text can I fit
on my cards?
The text on the caption bars should be limited to five (5) words
each. A general recommendation to use is up to 50 words of text on
the back of the cards. More text can be used if necessary. However,
it is important to remember that the more text, the smaller the
font. This affects the overall look of the card.
Top^
These numbers are
guidelines, not strict requirements. There should be no problems as
long as you take into consideration that a trading card is only 2.5"
by 3.5" and only so much text can fit in there while remaining
attractive and legible. If we feel that your text needs some editing
to fit better, we will contact you.
Top^
What kinds of photographs
work the best?
35 mm prints work the best. We cannot process slides or negatives.
When having the film processed, specify GLOSSY paper instead of
matte finish. Pictures scanned from matte paper reproduce out of
focus.
Top^
What size photograph can
I send?
We recommend glossy prints between 3.5" x 5" and 4" x 6". Smaller
photographs must be enlarged and could lose some clarity in the
process, and larger photographs might cost more for you to mail.
Top^
Will you correct any
misspelled words?
We will proof each order and run a spell-check program but do not
guarantee that we will catch mistakes on names, other unique
spellings, or misused words.

Top^
What shipping methods do
you generally use?
Our standard shipping method is the United States Postal Service.
For orders with tight deadlines, we recommend using Federal Express.
Federal Express offers a variety of delivery speeds and provides
online tracking to ensure that your products are received on time.
If Federal Express is used,
the shipping charges are included into the order without any
mark-ups. If you have a Federal Express account, you may apply that
to your shipping charge.
Top^
Will my photographs be
returned to me?
Yes, we will return all photographs. Please do not send any family
heirlooms or other such valuable photos. If you wish to use such a
photo, we suggest that you have a duplicate made at any photo
processing center and send us the copy.
Top^
Will my photo be returned
to me in the same condition as when I sent it?
Yes, we will not mark, cut, or alter the photograph in any way.
